On Sunday 22nd June, Talkin Tarn Amateur Rowing Club held another 12 Hour Sponsored Row following on from last year’s event. With the same setup as the previous year – two rowing machines situated down by the water – the only difference was the conditions. Starting at 8am, the rain and the wind followed causing training on the Tarn to be cancelled. Therefore, members used their ten minute stints on the rowing machines as their training.

Finishing at 8pm, the club managed to row an impressive distance of 331,668 metres; 165,180 metres on ergo 1 and 166,488 on ergo 2 making an average distance of 165,834 metres.

Although not all the money has been collected, the total is currently sitting at £966.68 – less than £500 short of last years total £1,419.84.

The club would like to thank everyone who donated for their support, and for the members who took part in the event.
