PROJECT 150

What is Project 150?

Project 150 is the name coined for TTARC's appeal for funds to build and equip a new boathouse - our existing boathouse being in desperate need of replacement.  The aim was to raise £150,000 in our 150th anniversary year.  Sadly the club has not been able to achieve this aim (see progress chart), but a significant sum has been raised during 2009 and the project continues.

What has been done so far?

Notable fundraising efforts by TTARC members and associates so far include a sponsored row (£1017), Brampton coffee mornings (£723), supermarket bag-packing (£457), bucket collection on regatta day (£417) and a quiz night (£367). Other quiz competitions, a treasure hunt, a supper dance and sales of club anniversary mugs have raised a further £1000.

Dave Harte's epic row of all seven major Lake District lakes in 24 hours merits special mention and raised a further £490 from sponsors.

Local businesses and individuals have also generously supported the appeal.  One local individual (not connected to the club) donated nearly £3000 from a Lands End to John O'Groats sponsored cycle ride he completed with his sons.  Together with grants of £4000 from Cumbria County Council and £1000 from the Neighbourhood Forum, external sources have boosted the appeal by a further £17000.

Want to donate?

If you have not yet contributed to Project 150 and wish to do so, donations should be made out to 'TTARC' and sent to the treasurer (Pete Stride, Woodside, Heads Nook, Brampton CA8 9AY).

Many Thanks to all those of you who have already contributed.
